Final film

Voiceover

In my exteneded sequence while Barry is walking to meet the loan shark I am going to use a voiceover. The voiceover will be of Barrys thoughts, this will help the audience understand what he is going through.

'Oh fucking hell, hes gunna kill me, I just know it! I don’t have his money and I know what hes capable of, hes a dangerous man! Alright, just calm down, don’t panic and try talk your way out of it, whats the worst that could happen? Well he could fucking kill me and the worst thing is barely anyone would even notice! Im a dead man walking. No im sure he’s a fairly reasonable man, im sure he will understand what im going through, just don’t panic and don’t piss him off. Everything will be fine and hes gunna have his money in a couple of days.'

First edit

I have completed the first edit of my short sequence and all the filming is done. However, after putting together my first edit it is clear that certain shots need to be re-shot in order to make my sequence the best it can be.
In some of the shots there is a lack of continuity and unfortunately in some of the shots the lighting is poor quality. Despite the few mistakes there are or the things that need to be re-shot I am pleased with how my first edit has turned out.

Filming update

I have filmed most of my sequence and it has turned out really well apart from a few shots that need to be re-shot because of lack of continuity, unfortunately I only noticed this after putting together a rough edit.
I still have some more to film but I will be filming that within the next two weeks.

Update

All of my planning is finished and I am ready to start filming. Although I said I was definitely filming on the 17th December I had dificulty getting a camera to use so unfortunately have to reschedule again for Saturday the 14th January. I am now slightly behind but I will hopefully film everything over the period of the planned weekend and then I will be start editing my footage the following week.

Sound track

For the end of my sequence when Barry is left alone in the alley there will be no dialouge so I am going to put a sound track over it. Here is the song I have chosen to use.

This is Dietro Casa by Ludovico Einaudi and it was taken from the soundtrack of This is England, a film that is set in a similar time to mine and is of a similar genre. I think this a very powerful song and it will reflect the time and the struggles Barry is going through. I wont be using the whole track I will just use a certain cutting from the track to fit the video it will be going over.

Location update

I am no longer filming in the oringal place that i planned to as it was too far away. I am not filming in the old town near the old fruit markets. It looks very similar to my original location and has very similar mis-en-scene. It also has more back alleys and big abandoned warehouses so I think it will look better, it is also closer which makes it look a lot easier for both me and my actors.
